Taiping: Lima pelajar Sekolah Menengah
Kebangsaan King Edward VII, di sini cedera, termasuk seorang melecur
selepas disambar petir ketika berehat di tepi padang bola sekolah
berkenaan, kelmarin.
pelajar Tingkatan Lima, R Dhenesh Kumar, 17, pengsan.
Petir menyambar kepala dan badan kiri
Dhenesh Kumar mengakibatkan 30 peratus tubuhnya melecur. Dia belum
Ravindran, 50, berkata beliau bimbang kerana doktor memaklumkan
keadaan anaknya parah dan peluang untuknya kembali pulih amat tipis.
Hancur hati saya apabila mendengar
katanya sambil menitiskan air mata.
Bapa Haresh, R Sokalingam, 47, pula
berkata, dia bergegas pulang dari Kedah selepas dimaklumkan kejadian
itu oleh pihak sekolah.
Saya lega mendapati dia masih hidup dan
masih mampu tersenyum ketika pertama kali terpandang saya, katanya.

while resting at the school's football field on Thursday.
In the 5.20pm incident, all of them
were thrown for about 2m, causing two to faint.
The two were S. Haresh, 15, who is in

Recalling the ordeal, Haresh said he

"At that time, the weather was
good. There were no signs of rain. Suddenly, there was thunder and a
lightning, which struck in our direction. We were sent flying and I
fainted," he said when met at the hospital yesterday.
Dhenesh's father, P. Ravindran, 50,
said he was worried after doctors informed him that his son was
seriously injured and had little chance of full recovery.
"My world fell apart after hearing
the devastating news. He is a good boy and is good in his studies.
"We love him dearly and can't bear
to see him suffering. I hope there is a specialist out there who can
save him," he said in between sobs.
