Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB) Asset Management senior general manager Ahmad Fuad Md Kasim in a statement faxed to the media here, said the incident caused SESB to lose generation capacity in the grid by 200 MW and thereby forcing SESB to activate its emergency load shedding in several areas in Sabah to ensure stability of the grid system in the state.
He said among the areas identified with power disruptions were Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, Tawau and Lahad Datu.
Ahmad Fuad said power supply was restored in stages from 4.08pm and a special team was set up to investigate to handle critical issues such as this to ensure it did not recur in future. - Bernama
